I agree that waiting for the labels is pointless. They already replied saying that they'd be fine with Apple's DRM being used more widely - Steve Jobs used that example as one that wouldn't work!! If you want to support DRM free music, choose the alternatives today rather than waiting for (the slow and stupid) labels who're trying to put restrictions on CDs, etc. If you’re looking for DRM free legal music, allmp3.com appears to be your best bet.
